Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss created waves in politics and cryptocurrency by contributing 188 BTC ($21 million) to the Digital Freedom Fund PAC. The donation is intended to promote President Donald Trump’s desire to make the United States the “crypto capital of the world.”

The PAC will support crypto-friendly candidates, promote a Bitcoin Bill of Rights, and oppose central bank digital currencies. In an X post, the twins stated, “Our goal is to support President Trump and his administration’s efforts to continue ushering America’s Golden Age.”

Aside from supporting politicians in midterm elections, the Digital Freedom Fund PAC will work to promote intelligent crypto legislation. Tyler Winklevoss stressed that the PAC will contribute to a legal climate that protects software developers and fosters innovation.

“Builders do not need additional paperwork that requires them to engage lawyers. “They require fundamental protections and equitable treatment,” he wrote.

Legislative Goals and Crypto Protection

In addition, the PAC is promoting a Bitcoin and Crypto Bill of Rights. The Bill will codify individuals’ rights to hold and utilize cryptocurrencies. It will also battle double registration and overregulation, which commonly delay entrepreneurs.

The twins noted, “We will fight for a Skinny Market Structure Bill that is lean and mean,” This emphasizes simplicity and limiting government overreach.

The PAC is also working to combat CBDCs, protect open banking, and ensure that everyone has equitable access to banking services. These procedures are all about defending our financial liberty and limiting government control.

In addition, the PAC is planning to support projects such as Project Crypto, which draws inspiration from the President’s Working Group report as well as the SEC and CFTC’s efforts to strengthen American leadership in the field of digital financial technology.
